Girraween, meaning 'place of flowers', is a park of massive granite outcrops, large angular tors, and precariously balanced boulders. Spectacular wildflower displays splash colour among the granite in spring. There are 17 km of walking tracks within Girraween National Park, ranging from a 1.4 km return walk to the Granite Arch to a 10.4 km return walk to Mount Norman. Mt Tamborine National park is made up of 14 sections of land on the Tamborine plateau and surrounding foothills. The Witches Falls section of the park was declared in 1908, making it Queensland's first national park. The Cedar creek section on the lower Northern end of the park is a popular swimming spot with several waterfalls and rock pools. Tamborine Map
Springbrook National Park has four sections on and around the plateau; Springbrook section, which extends along the crest of the plateau, Mount Cougal section to the east and�Natural Bridge and Numinbah sections to the west. The Springbrook section along the plateu offers better bush walking. Purlingbrook falls has a 4km return walk, add another 2km if you want to include Warringa Pool. The distinctive peaks of Mount Barney, Mount Maroon, Mount May, Mount Lindesay, Mount Ernest, Mount Ballow and Mount Clunie make up Mount Barney National Park. These rugged peaks are the remains of the ancient Focal Peak Shield Volcano which erupted 24 million years ago. Mount Barney is the second highest peak in south-east Queensland. Rugged mountain ranges, spectacular lookouts and rare wildlife feature in this prestigious World Heritage-listed park. Main Range National Park covers 29,730 ha. A mosaic of vegetation types occurs in the park. Rainforests grow in moist or sheltered locations, with open eucalypt forest occurring on the drier ridges and valleys. Lamington National Park is made up of two sections, Binna Burra on the East and Green Mountains on th West. The park covers 20,590ha and boasts extensive walking tracks along the McPherson Range, which allow visitors to explore the area's forests, creeks and waterfalls.
